Roberta “Bobbie” Gene Stobbe (née Garbulski), 95

Roberta Gene Stobbe Obituary

Roberta “Bobbie” Gene Stobbe, (née Garbulski), age 95, died peacefully on June 4, 2023, at her home in Plover.

Bobbie was born on October 11, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Frances and Bert Garbulski. She attended Flower Tech High School in Chicago, the only all-girl vocational school in Chicago’s history, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She worked at the National Bank of Chicago, as an accountant, until she moved to Berlin, Wis. in 1946. There, she met her future husband, Joseph B. Stobbe, and they were married at St. Michael’s Church, Berlin, in 1948. She was kept very busy as a loving mother to eight children.

After the passing of her husband in 1991, Bobbie went on a new adventure to Waupaca, Wis. She loved living in a cabin in the woods. Bobbie was a quiet and gentle soul, but her love for her family was immeasurable. She enjoyed spending time reading, expanding her knowledge, and taking walks finding peace and solace in nature.

Bobbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. You could always rest assured a birthday card, typed or handwritten letter would be coming soon. She loved showing pictures of all of her family whenever you would visit her.

Her husband and parents preceded her death as well as one son, Jerome. Surviving are four sons, Joseph, Robert (Lisa), Gregory, and Kevin, and three daughters, Marilyn (Marc), Julie, and Gloria (Doug), ten beautiful grandchildren and eight wonderful great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Evelyn and Geraldine.

A graveside service, led by her grandson Harly, will be held on Friday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Berlin, Wis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Waupaca Library Foundation in memory of Roberta Stobbe.

Rest in peace, dear Bobbie. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
