Joseph L. (Louis) Piesik, 78

Joseph L. (Louis) Piesik, 78, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2024, at his home with his loving family at his side while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Joseph was born August 25, 1945, in the town of Stockton. He was the son of Ernest and Stella (née Czerwinski) Piesik. He attended local grade schools.

His marriage to Linda Wanta took place on May 24, 1969 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. His wife Linda survives. Joe worked for Acme Tree Company for 25 years before working for CN Railroad for 17 years retiring in 2007.

In his free time, Joe enjoyed fishing and camping up at Fire Fly Lake up north, and enjoyed doing yard work and joking and having fun with his friends. His most precious time was being a grandfather and great grandfather and spending time with his family. He was a member of the 12 Apostle Musky Club and the Knights of Columbus Monsignor McGinley Council 1170 of Stevens Point.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Heartland Hospice or the local Heart Association.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Linda, and their two daughters Lisa (Scott) Pflugradt and Amanda Piesik (Eric Peterson), his grandchildren Rileah Pflugradt (Damion Pagel), Harley Peterson and great granddaughter Ella Pagel; nine siblings, Josephine (Hubert) Rzentkowski of Rosholt, Stanley (Pauline) Piesik of Bancroft, Marlene Bronk of Stevens Point, Ernest (Marylyn) Piesik of Stevens Point, Frank Piesik ,Thomas Piesik, John Piesik and Nicolas Piesik all of Stevens Point, and David (Bonnie) Piesik of Bancroft; brother-in-law Donald Wiernik of Whiting; sister-in-law Patricia Wanta of Stevens Point; Brothers-in-law Bob Kostuchowski and Joseph (Carol) Wanta, both of Stevens Point, sister-in-law Mary (Robert) King of Plover; brother-in-law David (Marlene Duda) Wanta of Plover; and three godchildren Sheila Jasenovsky, Renee Piesik and Sarah King.

Joe was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law John Bronk and Anthony Wanta, and two sisters-in-law Leona Wiernik and Phyllis Kostuchowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Church until the time for mass.
