County seeks applicants for District 3

The Portage Co. Board is seeking applicants for a vacancy in District 3.

The vacancy was created when former Supervisor Lionel Weaver resigned halfway through his first term in office. Weaver’s resignation was effective on April 19.

The Board of Supervisors on May 18 voted to fill the vacancy via appointment. Anyone with interest is urged to apply to fill the term through April 2024.

Applicants should be at least 18 years old, be able to pass a criminal background check, and reside in District 3. Applicants should include a resume with their application.

Applications are available at the county clerk’s office, 1516 Church St., no later than Wednesday, May 31 at 4:30 p.m.
