Suspicious: Police were asked to conduct extra patrol around Jefferson Elementary, 1800 East Ave. at 8:06 a.m. when someone reported a suspicious older man “hanging around” the building.

School issues: Police were called to Ben Franklin Jr. High, 2000 Polk St., at 8:07, 8:37, and 9:26 a.m., for “school issues.” No further information was included in the blotter.
