Bernice Clara (née Worzalla) Nitka, age 96, entered eternal life March 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She passed away 45 minutes after her daughter, Barbara. Together they went hand-in-hand through the Pearly Gates.

After high school, she worked at Hart Glove and Mitten Factory in Stevens Point and then was the bookkeeper for Nitka & Son Plumbing Business.

Bernice was a very devoted Catholic. Her family knew if they had her out for the day, they better get her home for the Rosary at 8:30.

Bernice loved spending time with her family. Some of her favorites were family gatherings, feeding the birds and squirrels, flower gardening, game nights, picnics at Iverson Park every Sunday, cooking for her family and all the neighborhood kids. Her specialties were shrimp salad, potato salad, and homemade kluski noodles.

Bernice’s recent years were at The Lodge at Whispering Pines where many wonderful friendships were made. She enjoyed daily visits and playing bingo with all the other residents at The Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Barb, Bev, Bonita, Laurie; sons Ken, Tommy, and Jeff; sons-in-law Dan Kluck and Ken Klish; brother Bobbi; and sisters Marcella and Patricia.

We would like to thank Promedica Hospice, Inclusa, and the amazing staff at The Lodge for all their dedicated love and care they gave our mother. You made Bernice feel like she was truly at home and always welcomed her family and visitors with open arms. For that, we are forever grateful.
