Councilwoman Heidi Oberstadt arrived at June 11 standing committee meetings to find a surprise celebration in her honor.

Fellow council members had arranged a mini-baby shower for Oberstadt on Monday, who, along with her husband Brian, is expecting her first child soon. Cake was served for city officials and citizens alike.

Oberstadt was first appointed to the city council in 2015, filling a vacancy in the city’s 4th District after Mike Wiza was elected as mayor.

She ran unopposed for a full term in 2017 and the position is up for re-election next April. Oberstadt has not yet announced if she plans to run again.
