Mildred Mae Medin, 97

Mildred Mae Medin, age 97, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Portage County Health Care Center.

Mildred was born on March 3, 1925, to the parents of Tom and Marguerite (Hoy) Hogan in Livingston, Montana. She attended school in West Allis, Wisconsin, and was married to Gordon Wilfred Medin on June 6, 1944. To this union three sons were born and one daughter, who died in infancy.

After living in six different apartments and houses in seven years, she was finally able to put down her roots on a hobby farm in Menomonee Falls, Wis. where she lived for the next 28 years. Millie worked in the Menomonee Falls School lunch service for 19 years.

In 1980 she and Gordon moved to Stevens Point to enjoy their grandchildren living there. They joined a fellowship of believers that would eventually become Woodland’s Church and it has been such an integral part of Millie’s life. She entered the presence of her Savior on Sept. 1, 2022, at the age of 97.

She is survived by her sons and their wives: Jim and Billie Jo (Scott) of Shoreview, Minn., David and Sandy (Benz) of Stevens Point, Dan and Cheryl (Randecker) of Lakeville, Minn., and one sister-in-law Delores Hogan of Colorado Springs, Colo. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death was her husband Gordon with whom she was married for 59 years. Also, her infant daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth, her parents, Tom and Marguerite Hogan, her two younger brothers, Jim and Paul (Norma) Hogan, a younger sister, Ruth (Bill) Easterling, and a daughter-in-law, Lou Ann (Souik) Medin.

Millie wishes to express her gratitude to the Woodland’s Church family for their love and care and especially for upholding her in prayer, to the numerous visits by the pastoral staff, and to members of its congregation who have kept her connected with the church family.

We, the family of our mother, would also like to thank the Portage County Health Care Center staff for their patience and medical care.

“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord. Forever!” Psalm 23:6

Visitation will be at Woodlands Church in Plover on Wednesday, Sept. 7 beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11.
