Marilyn A. Zinda, 86

Marilyn A. Zinda, 86, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023, at the River View Lodge Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was a homemaker for many years while her children were young. She later went to work at Wisconsin Telephone Company, followed by 20 years at Associated Bank until her retirement. Marilyn enjoyed golfing, bowling, spending time with friends, and most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her smile was always enough to light up a room. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: five children, Sheree (Tom) Loomis, Todd (Doreen Lepper) Zinda, Bette (Bruce) Zdroik, Jeff (Jennifer Clark) Zinda, and Barb (Mark) Soik; eight grandchildren, Jordan Hoerter, Matt Zdroik, Amanda (Kellen) Lund, Drew and Leah Soik, Maleah, Treyton, and Talie Zinda; and one brother, Wayne (Eda) Kostroski, along with numerous other relatives and many friends.

Aside from her late husband, Gib, and her parents, she is also preceded in death by two brothers, Maynard and Warren.

Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 with Reverend Jeffrey Hennes officiating.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at River View Lodge for the care they provided to Marilyn over the past four years. In addition, they would like to thank Interim Hospice for all the support and genuine compassion given to Marilyn and the family in her final days. The care that Marilyn received from both facilities went above and beyond expectations. As a family, we will be forever grateful to them, and they will always have a special place in our hearts.
