Bernadine “Bernie” H. Mallek, 87

Bernadine “Bernie” H. Mallek, 87, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon March 26, 2024, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living while under the care of Heartland Hospice. 

Bernie was born in 1937 in Portage County and she was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Dudzik. She attended local schools and graduated from P. J. Jacobs High School.

She married Albin “Al” Mallek in 1958 and the couple settled in Stevens Point to start a family.   

In her free time, Bernie enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and watching the Packers.  

She  was also a long-time member of the St. Peter’s Rosary Society.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include her husband, Al; her daughter Mary, Madison; and her son Thomas (Catherine), Chambersburg, Penn. Bernie is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as a sister and step-brother of Stevens Point. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and step-brother.  

Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Church until the time for mass.
