Aspirus Health was once again one of the top organizations ranked for performance by a healthcare rating firm. It’s the fifth consecutive year that the hospital system has received this award, ranking seventh out of more than 4,100 hospitals.

Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) annually recognizes organizations with performance measurements in the top 50 throughout North America with the GHX “Best 50” Award.

For the past 14 years, GHX’s annual award spotlights the top North American hospitals and health systems based on their proven ability to improve operational performance while driving down costs through supply chain automation.

Aspirus Health Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer Gary Rakes said he was “very proud” of the team that runs Aspirus.

The past two years have been challenging with continued COVID pandemic operations and the integration of seven new hospitals and 21 clinics,” Rakes said. “My team has stepped up to the plate and delivered, demonstrating and living our motto of ‘filling the hands that heal.’”

Honorees are selected from a pool of more than 4,100 provider organizations connected to the GHX digital trading platform that score highest in areas such as maximizing document automation, Exchange utilization, and trading partner connections during 2021. The recipients will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the GHX Summit 22 on May 11.

“The GHX Best 50 honorees have once again proven that by tapping into the expertise of supply chain teams, delivering outstanding care at lower costs is possible,” said Bruce Johnson, president, and CEO, GHX. “Even as COVID-19 continues to create a challenging environment for healthcare providers, organizations like Aspirus Health have created greater efficiencies and eliminated waste, ultimately helping to deliver more value for patients.”
