St. Mike’s named ‘Great Community Hospital’

Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital is one of two Ascension Wisconsin facilities in to be recognized in the 100 Great Community Hospitals list by Becker’s Hospital Review.
The list is based on hospitals quality of care and service to community and Ascension St. Michael’s is joined by Howard Young Medical Center, part of Ascension in the distinction that was released on July 23.
They are among seven Wisconsin hospitals named Great Community Hospitals and were selected for inclusion based on analysis of key awards, rankings, and certifications in addition to the hospital’s reputation for leadership and innovation.
“Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital is an essential part of our local healthcare community, and we find joy in connecting with our patients through exceptional service provided by an outstanding staff of caregivers,” said Jeremy Normington-Slay, President of Ascension St. Michael’s.
For the purposes of this list, Becker’s defines a community hospital as one with fewer than 550 beds. The Great Community Hospitals list includes independent community hospitals as well as facilities affiliated with large health systems. Some hospitals serve expansive rural geographies, while others care for small communities outside of large cities.
