Sandra A. Schude, 74

Sandra A. Schude, of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2023, at the age of 74.

Sandra was born May 20, 1948, to Lawrence and Daisy (née Mansavage) Zakrzewski in Stevens Point. She attended local schools growing up, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1966.

Following high school, she married David Schude on her 19th birthday; May 20, 1967. The two went on to have three children together; DeWayne, Daniel, and Amy Jo. In addition to raising their children, Sandra also worked in various clerical positions. Sandra and David resided in Stevens Point and were married for 35 years until David’s passing in 2002.

Sandra not only took pride in raising her children, but she also had a passion for raising animals. After meeting her significant other, Wade, the two worked hard to maintain a small hobby farm. She had much love in her heart for the chickens, steers, barn cats, and her special fur babies Midnight, the housecat, and Sully, the dog. If she ever felt grumpy towards Wade, her animal babies would brighten her day.

Sandra also found great pleasure in the simple things in life; watching the wildlife in her yard such as the deer, turkeys, and birds in the window, canning, making pickles, and baking, especially at Christmas. Above all, she was a sweet-hearted grandma who adored her family.

Sandra is lovingly survived by her significant other, Wade Dugree; two sons, DeWayne (Brooke Van Straten) and Daniel (Renee) Schude; four grandchildren, Katelyn (Trevor Platta), Emily (Shane Steffen), Joshua, and Tanner Schude; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Steffen. She is further survived by a sister, Nancy Pliska; sisters-in-law, Diane Zakrzewski and Susan Schude; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; her daughter, Amy Jo Schude; a grandson, Nathaniel Schude; two brothers, Tom and Bill Zakrzewski; a sister, Marge Yokers; brothers-in-law, Henry Yokers, David Pliska, Mike Schude, and Jim Kelp; and a nephew, Bill Zakrzewski, Jr.

A service will be held to honor Sandra’s memory on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. in Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
