Roosevelt Elementary closed for two weeks

Metro Wire Staff

Roosevelt Elementary is being moved to e-Learning beginning Monday, Oct. 19.

The school will be closed for in-person classes due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases at the school, related close contacts, and a shortage of available substitute teachers.

“The district does not at this time have the capacity to safely or effectively provide in-person instruction,” a news release from the district said.

The district announced early last week that kindergartners and second-grade students would be moved to e-learning due to coronavirus, but the switch was made Sunday night to affect all students in the school.

Parents should expect to hear from teachers via email regarding their child’s schedule and student expectations. Students who need to pick up their district-issued Chromebook should contact the school office at 715.345.5425.

Grab and Go meals will be available in the school’s parking lot from 9:30-10:30 a.m. daily. No meal service will be provided on Friday, Oct. 23.

Students are expected to return on Nov. 2.
