Police & Sheriff calls, Nov. 21-24

Editor’s Note: Several additional callers reported their vehicles had been rummaged through, but nothing was taken, in and around the neighborhoods of thefts from cars reported below. For expediency, we opted to only include reports of actual thefts.

Nov. 21

Suspicious Person: A 66-year-old man called deputies at 6:42 p.m. to report a suspicious person was rummaging through unlocked vehicles on the 600 block of Greenbriar Ave.

Noisy Neighbor: Police were called to the 1100 block of Phillips St. at 12:22 a.m. after a neighbor complained of loud noise. Three tenants, all 21-year-old men, received a verbal warning.

Stolen: A 47-year-old man reported someone had gone through his vehicle on the 50 block of Hillcrest Dr. at 7:46 p.m. Missing from his vehicle were a pen and an ice scraper.

Crash: Police responded to North Point Dr. and Division St. North for a two-vehicle crash. A 77-year-old woman was cited for failing to yield right of way.

Damage to Car: A 48-year-old man called police from the 1600 block of Academy Ave. to report when he returned from shopping he found some damage to his vehicle. The estimated value of damage was not immediately reported.

Assault: A 34-year-old woman called deputies at 8:44 p.m. from the 20 block of Park Ridge Dr. to report she’d been assaulted about a month prior. It was not immediately clear why the woman waited to report the incident.

Suspicious: A 37-year-old woman called police from the 1200 block of Strongs Ave. to report a suspicious man, 23, was at a massage parlor.

Pricey: Residents from the 2000 block of Roberts Dr. called deputies at 9:23 a.m. to report someone had rifled through their vehicle and taken a $100 gas can.

Theft: A 39-year-old woman called deputies at 9:31 a.m. to report someone had stolen tie down straps from her vehicle on the 1700 block of Kathy’s Dr.

Theft: A 34-year-old man reported someone had stolen about $5 in change from his vehicle as it was parked on the 200 block of Linwood Ave. at 12:36 p.m.

Theft: Deputies were called to the 5000 block of Carol’s Ln. at 4:20 p.m. after a 19-year-old woman reported someone had stolen an old purse containing receipts and pens from her car.

Nov. 22

Accidental Drive-Off: Deputies were notified of a gas drive-off from the 5000 block of Harding Ave. at 10:58 a.m. The driver was located and made payment arrangements.

OWI: Police arrested a 45-year-old man for his third OWI offense during a traffic stop on the 3400 block of Church St. at 2:14 a.m.

Nov. 23

Bullet Hole: A 51-year-old woman called deputies at 3:47 p.m. to report there was a bullet hole in her home on the 10000 block of County Trunk K.

Warrant: Police arrested a 37-year-old man on a warrant arrest following a traffic stop for an expired license plate on the 3200 block of Church St. at 10:46 a.m.

Counterfeit: A bank located on the 3600 block of Main St. called police at 12:01 a.m. to report it had received a fake $20 bill.

Nov. 24

Assault: Police investigated an assault on the 2700 block of Stanley St. at 1:36 a.m.

You Don’t Live Here: A 65-year-old man called police at 3:26 a.m. to report an intoxicated man he did not know had entered his Second St. home and passed out. The man, 21, was cited for disorderly conduct.
