Police seek information on park graffiti

By Brandi Makuski

Stevens Point police are looking for information about the person or people who vandalized a local park.

Lt. Dana Williams from SPPD a passerby saw the graffiti at Bukolt Park and notified police at 7:28 a.m. on June 22.

On the west side of the bathroom facility near the park’s boat landing, someone wrote “Wife Beaters” in silver paint. On a nearby bench, the words “F— pigs,” a derogatory term for police, was painted, and along the multi-use path, the term “ACAB,” which is an anti-police acronym meaning “All cops are bastards,” was written in white paint.

“It probably happened between last night and sometime this morning,” Williams said Monday morning. The park does have some video surveillance, Williams said, but she wasn’t immediately certain if the area with graffiti was covered.

Anyone with information is asked to contact SPPD at 715.316.1500.
