Point Dance Ensemble coming to Amherst

Point Dance Ensemble will feature company member’s original choreography at the Jensen Community Center in Amherst in January.

Tickets for the Saturday, Jan. 18 show are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens/students, 5 years and younger are free. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the 1 p.m. performance.

The matinee performance features a variety of styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, and modern. Company members explore choreography concepts and compose pieces ranging from solos to group pieces.

In addition to the performance, a bake sale will take place during intermission with coffee and hot chocolate available.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of PDE. Founded in January 2000, PDE’s mission is to “inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance by connecting our community to unique outreach and inclusive programming through dance.”

Choreographers and performers of the Showcase include Alana Culver, Emma Dimler, Lydia Baird, Ella Woyake, Aleyna Thoe, Ava Miller, Victoria Franz, Alida Richards, Marissa Stolt, Alexius Wanserski, Sydney Mattmiller, Olivia VanArk, Jaycee Glen, Emily Glodowski, Madelyn Rybarczyk, Jenna Stolt, Kennedy VanderLoop, Ahlyianna Palbrach, Greta Vollendof, Payton Vollendof, Brooklyn Zarnke , Allison Leach and Skyler Wachsmuth.
