Plover wholesaler raises funds for Portage Co. First Responders

Metro Wire Staff

A Plover wholesaler donated over $3,000 to Portage Co. First Responders this month.

First Supply deals mainly in Milwaukee Tool products, providing contractors items relating to plumbing, HVAC, municipal, waterworks, well/septic, builder PVF, and industrial supplies.

The company held a public cookout fundraiser in September, and although it closed down early due to stormy weather, still managed to pull in $3,355 in donations.

Dewey Firefighter/EMT Malayna Polum said the money would go into the general fund of the Portage Co. EMS Association.

The donation was made just days prior to National First Responders Day, Oct. 28, an official day of recognition for the estimated 4.6 million career and volunteer police, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics in the United States. The recognition was established in June 2019 when the U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan resolution designating October 28 as the day to honor those in the emergency services.

First Supply is located at 2575 Precision Dr. in Plover.
