Karen Marie Lee, 83

Karen Marie Lee, a dedicated mother, grandmother, and longtime resident of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, at the age of 83.

She was born on January 9, 1941, to Edwin and Ruth (née Worden) Zingsheim.

Karen is survived by her loving children: Paul (Sue) Roth of Baraboo, Wis.,, Christopher (Brenda) Roth of Stevens Point, Mary (Tim) Preston of Glenbeulah, Wis., and Theresa (Scott) Sybeldon of Weston, Wis. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah Selje, Taylor and Nathan Roth, and Michael and Matthew Standke. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Charles Roth and Will Lee, her brothers Philip and Ronald Zingsheim, her sister Jean Hansen, and brother-in-law Milford Hansen.

After graduating from Elroy High School, Karen attended Whitewater University where she met Charles and together they raised four children. Karen had a successful career working in planning and zoning for Juneau County, W.L. Lee & Associates, and CAP Services, retiring in 2016. She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UWSP in 1992. In June 1994, Karen married Will Lee, blending their families and creating cherished memories with his children Jon, Chuck, Becky, Mark, and Jenny.

Karen was a devout Christian and an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a dedicated reader and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends to destinations such as China, Scandinavia, Israel, and Chile.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Dimensions Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Karen during the past two years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
