Plover to close overflow brush drop-off locations

Metro Wire Staff

The Village of Plover will close its temporary tree and brush drop off locations at Okray Park and Kubacki Park on Aug. 11.

After that date, all storm damage materials must be taken to the village compost site, located at the Plover Wastewater Treatment Plant, 4496 Coolidge Ave. Tree stumps will not be accepted at this location.

Due to the continued cleanup from the July 20 derecho, the village has extended operating hours for its compost site. The site is now open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The extended hours are effective Aug. 12-24.

The village’s special curbside pickup continues for storm damage materials—tree branches, tree trunks, and tree bushes. Residents should place storm damage materials next to the outer edge of the asphalt roadway on their street. Branches and tree trunk lengths should not exceed eight feet in length and should not extend into the street.

Residents are responsible for picking up leaves, twigs, compost, and grass clippings.

The village is nearing completion of its first round of storm pick up. A second pick up has yet to be scheduled.

Anyone with questions should contact the village’s public works department at (715) 345-5257 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
