Metro Wire Staff

Prevail Bank in Stevens Point has made a large donation to an area sports organization.

As part of Prevail Bank’s Charitable Contributions Program, the bank and its associates donated $5,100 to Plover Whiting Youth Athletics.

The donation goes toward a two-story pavilion for which PWYA is currently raising funds, and to renovate batting cages and dugouts. During a fundraiser for the project in early 2023, Chris Brooks, a member of the PWYA Board, said that all funds raised were investments to help the organization continue hosting various softball tournaments in Plover.

Tournaments hosted at the fields now generate about $1.5 million annually, according to the Plover Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Present for the check presentation in December were Dale Sankey, Prevail Bank Vice President/Commercial Lending Officer; Jacki Hoerter, Universal Teller; Troy Kempfert, Prevail Bank Branch Manager; Plover Whiting Youth Athletics Board Directors, Travis Mayek and Doug Noskowiak; Eric Kundinger, Prevail Bank Vice President/Commercial Lending Officer; and Michele Skare, Universal Teller.
