Letter: New leadership necessary in local government

To the Editor-

Rein In Rogue Rulers! Is it a good idea to create consequences for elected/appointed county executive, mayor, county board, and alder persons who commit sins of omission and commission against the Constitution and will of the people?

To my knowledge, there are no written consequences in Portage County, Wisconsin for such practices by leaders of that ilk. Once elected/appointed to power the errants shirk dedication to the constitution which leads to rampant negative practices.

Our founding fathers wrote a brilliant document recognized around the world and emulated by thinking people. However, they did not meet Mayor Mike Wiza, none of the county board, nor the alderpersons of Stevens Point.

Not one of these 38 people has addressed the Constitutional issues of this county including consequences of infractions against the will of the people.

Circumstances now demand new leadership to address these concerns. Obviously, there is not one incumbent capable of such a task, or we would not be in this Constitutional mess.

Current personnel does not have the internal fortitude, moral fiber, will, and intelligence to do it. So much for Mr. David Shorr of Kennedy School of Government fame and his comment, “Go get your signatures,” made in December 2021 to Alderperson Jeremy Slowinski and we the people in regard to offering our Highway 51 referendum.

As of old, it will take men and women from business to solve these problems because they have the DNA and guts to do it be they black, white, or orange. It will be the landowners and workers of metal as Paul Revere that will bring America back from the edge.

There are reasons why preachers preach, professors profess, and the children who run pop stands become captains of industry.

There are 70,000 residents of Portage County, Wisconsin to supply the “care power” needed to create consequences for Constitution breachers.

We can not and will not tolerate this insolence against our constitution!

Not one of these 38 people deserves the chairs we the people bought for them to sit on!

Further, the citizens who vote for incumbents on April 5, 2022 vote for more corruption of the constitution and refuse to, “Rein In Rogue Rulers.”
