Letter: Local paralegal supports Sawyer for judge

To the Editor-

I have been a paralegal for a law office in Stevens Point since 1997 and employed as the paralegal for the City of Stevens Point since August 16, 2010. Mr. Sawyer has shown to me that he has integrity, compassion, and an unyielding devotion to our country proven by his service with the U.S. Navy as a naval officer and helicopter pilot for 8 1/2 years.

I feel a connection to Steve since I am very proud to say that my brother served in the U.S. Army 7th Corps, 54th Engineer Battalion supporting the 1st Armor Division as part of the ground forces in Kuwait and Baghdad during Desert Storm. Stephen also has a superb educational background having graduated with honors and obtained his law degree from Notre Dame University.

Not only was he a prosecutor and assistant district attorney in Milwaukee County, but Mr. Sawyer has also handled and defended cases in 30 different counties across the State of Wisconsin.

But most significantly, Stephen is not affiliated with any political party and he would be able to adjudicate cases without any political bias or political party motivation. For the reasons above enumerated, Mr. Sawyer is the most honorable, experienced, and highly diversely qualified candidate for Portage County Circuit Court Judge.

Please join me and vote for Stephen Sawyer next Tuesday, April 5.
