County offers free vaccine clinic for kids

The Portage Co. Health Department is offering a free vaccination clinic for kids on Saturday, Oct. 23.

County Health Planner Elizabeth Beck said the county will offer free vaccinations because many families may be experiencing a delay in their healthcare appointments due to COVID-19—and during the time of year of children often receive routine vaccinations.

The clinic is open to children ages 6 months to 18 years, regardless of insurance status, but is available by appointment only.

The clinic will be held at the Ruth Gilfry Center, 817 Whiting Ave., in the downstairs clinic, on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Vaccinations for influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and polio, will be available.
