Michael L. Lorbeck, 66

Michael L. Lorbeck, age 66, of Buena Vista passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 19, 2021.

Michael was born August 24, 1955, in Stevens Point to the late Lloyd and Germaine (Herman) Lorbeck.

Michael graduated from Pacelli High School in 1973 and the University of Stevens Point in 1977.

In 1976 Michael was elected to the Stevens Point City Council at the age of 20, the youngest city alderman. Michael worked for RJ Vending for 18 years and retired after working at Americold for 19 years.

Michael enjoyed fishing, bible study, teaching adult Sunday school. He was a member of the Amherst Bible Church. Michael would like the following religious beliefs expressed: “He trusted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1983 and never regretted it for a minute. His favorite scripture: Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” –Matthew 10 verses 32 and 33, New American Standard Bible.

Michael is survived by his siblings Kim Esler, Lynn (Bob) Schipferling, Peter (Sheri) Lorbeck, and various nephews and nieces.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Victor and Ada Lorbeck, Peter and Elizabeth Herman, and Martin and Lillian Stich, also a brother-in-law Mike Esler.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Riverside Bible Camp, 6355 County Rd DD, Amherst, at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 10. In lieu of flowers, Michael would like donations to The Voice of the Martyrs Inc, 1815 SE Bison Rd, Bartlesville, OK 74006.

The family would like to thank Compassus for their compassionate care during his last days.
