City parks dept. holds annual spring scavenger hunt

Metro Wire Staff

The city is holding its fourth annual spring scavenger hunt.

The family-friendly contest, held by the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, will kick off on Wednesday, March 27 at 2 p.m. and end on Sunday, April 14.

Participants can find the location of the hunt with the following trivia question:

Visitors enjoy nature trails and bird-watching along my water’s edge. I am named after the first Polish settler in Portage County. Before my dedication, folks referred to me as Della Street Park. What City of Stevens Point Park am I?

Answers should be sent to [email protected], and responders can then participate in the Spring Scavenger Hunt to enter the city’s prize drawing.

The answer to the trivia question will be revealed with the release of the first clue on Wednesday, March 27, at 2 p.m. on the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department’s Facebook page.

There are nine painted ‘eggs’ with clues to the next throughout the park. At the final location, participants are invited to take a photograph and send it to [email protected] to be entered to win a prize. Submissions should include the names of all participants for prize eligibility.

Winners will be notified via email throughout the event.
