Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Chuck was born on April 27, 1944, to the late Myron and Evelyn (née Jakusz) Haase. He grew up in Stevens Point and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1963. He married Doris Kaminski on October 23, 1965, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. His wife Doris survives.

Chuck worked at Sunrise Medical (Joerns) for 25 years before becoming disabled. As a boy, Chuck was a proud member of the Stevens Point Drum & Bugle Corp. in the 1950s, under the direction of John Hodgson. He enjoyed singing in the St. Bartholomew Church Choir until becoming disabled. One of his favorite songs being “America the Beautiful.”

Chuck also enjoyed traveling, hobby carpentry and fixing small engines. He especially enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren, Hans, Hannah, and Hunter Obst. They will sure miss his “joking around.” He also enjoyed visiting with his very nice neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Doris. One son, Charles and one daughter, Laura (Tom) Obst. Three brothers, David (Kathleen), Tom (Renee) and Paul (Betty). He is also survived by brother- and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Clairann) Kaminski, Diane (John) Repinski, Marge (Lee) Handschke, Al (Mary) Kaminski, Jim Kaminski, Andy (Deb) Kaminski and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Bartholomew Lift Fund or Promedica Hospice. A big thank you goes to the staff at Aspirus Hospital, North Haven Assisted Living, Portage County Health Care Center, and Promedica Hospice.
