She was born on May 5, 1932, in King, Wis., to Henry and Flossie (née Brooks) Rosine and spent her childhood in Moon, town of Bergen, Marathon County.

Betty married Norman E. Dean at St. John Lutheran Church in Mosinee on August 16, 1952, and accompanied him as a military wife, living in France for a time. After Norman’s discharge from the Army, they settled in Stevens Point. Betty retired from M&I (First National Bank) in 1993, and they retired to Surprise, Ariz. Norman passed away in Stevens Point on September 12, 1995.

Betty later married retired Army LTC Frank Andringa in Surprise on December 6, 1997. Frank passed away in Olympia, Wash., in 2005, after which Betty returned to Central Wisconsin to be close to friends and family.

Throughout her life, Betty remained connected to her childhood home and served on the board for the Moon Cemetery for many years.

She was also a prolific author, penning three books: “The History of Moon Wisconsin” (2019), “Descendants of Ludwig and Bertha (Hildebrandt) Rosine, Immigrants from Germany” (2020), and her autobiography, “Always on the Move” (2023).

Betty also co-authored a book on the genealogy of the Dean family in 1999 and was working on a book identifying the people buried in the Moon Cemetery at the time of her passing.

Betty had a passion for bringing joy to others’ lives. She served as a guide on motor coach trips she organized for various organizations and was a member of the Nay-osh-ing Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Betty especially loved serving on the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS) Committee of the DAR, supporting the veterans of the Tomah VA Medical Center.

Betty is survived by two sisters, Doris (Roman) Dahlke of Halder and Lilah Dean of Mosinee. She cherished her nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed by them. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

A funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1919 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with visitation starting at 9 a.m. A graveside committal service will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids at 12:30 p.m.
