By Patrick Lynn

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is presently seeking nominations for the 2023 Hunter Education Instructor of the Year, Hunter Education Group of the Year, and Archery Education Instructor of the Year awards.

Eligible for nomination are current hunter and archery education instructors, as well as hunter education groups, who have notably advanced hunter safety voluntarily by providing exceptional service.

According to DNR Hunter Education Administrative Warden Lt. Michael Weber, “Hunter and archery education instructors often serve as cornerstones within their communities, contributing to the advancement of hunting by delivering top-notch safety training to the next generation of hunters. These awards play a significant role in acknowledging the exceptional efforts of our instructors and groups.”

Exceptional service can manifest in various ways, such as recruiting new instructors, students, or hunters, teaching numerous courses, or engaging in other community activities associated with hunter education.

To nominate an individual or group, access the nomination form on the DNR’s volunteer webpage and submit the completed form via email to [email protected] by February 15, 2024.
