Victor Firkus, 74

Victor Firkus, of Stevens Point, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 74.

Victor was born June 24, 1949, in the Town of Franzen, the son of the late Vincent Sr. and Stella (née Fisher) Firkus.

On February 13, 1971, Victor was united in marriage to Judy Oksuita at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Together they had three beautiful daughters. While the two later divorced, they always remained friends.

Victor enjoyed shooting pool, whether it was for leagues, in tournaments, or just for fun. He also enjoyed Karaoke, riding his Can-Am Spyder with his friends, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Above all, Victor loved his three daughters, his grandchildren, and all of his nieces and nephews.

Victor is survived by his daughters; Shelly (Florian) Firkus of Stevens Point, Shannon (Shawn) Brandt of Mosinee, and Stephanie (Matt) Balke of Stevens Point; six grandchildren; Trina Kizewski, Scott (Amber) Brandt, Leo (Beka) Yenter, Justin (Haley) Yenter, Tanner (Paige), and Braxton; and seven great-grandchildren; Keason, Landyn, Makenna, Autumn, Sawyer, Brantly, Boone, and one on the way! He is further survived by a brother; incent Firkus, Jr., and many other relatives.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl, Barney, Albert, and Thomas; two sisters, Christine Stroik and Dorothy Tryba; and three siblings in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Shuda Funeral Home, 3200 Stanley Street, Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories on Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. The funeral will conclude with Full Military Honors immediately following the service.
