UWSP choirs, symphony orchestra, to perform together

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Choral Union perform together for an evening of instrumental and vocal music on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21-22.

The concerts will be held each evening at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall in the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point. The Symphony Orchestra is directed by Andy Moran, assistant professor of horn and orchestral director, and the choirs by Shawn Cody Miller, assistant professor and director of Choral Activities.

The orchestra and choirs will perform two works by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Toward the Unknown Region” and “Dona Nobis Pacem.” Featured soloists will include Susan Bender, professor of voice, and Matthew Markham, associate professor of voice.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out.

Proceeds benefit student scholarships.
