UW-Stevens Point at Wausau to host faculty lecture series

Faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Wausau will bring their knowledge and expertise to the community during a continuing lecture series that begins Tuesday, Sept. 28.

This fall, HANK Talks—named for Hank the Husky, campus mascot—will be live, in-person events beginning at 7 p.m. on the stage of the James F. Veninga Theater in the UW Center for Civic Engagement on the Wausau campus. Each will include a 30-minute presentation followed by a live question- and answer session with Ann Herda-Rapp, campus executive.

The events will also be live-streamed at 7 p.m. on the Lecture and Arts YouTube channel. Watch at https://tinyurl.com/HankTalk:

Tuesday, Sept. 28: Jim Servi, assistant professor of management, “A Quick Trip around the GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness): Recognizing Important Differences in Culture to Better Understand Yourself and Others”

Tuesday, Oct. 19: Penny Workman, associate professor of chemistry, “Kitchen Chemistry: Exploring Chemistry in Food”

Tuesday, Nov. 16: Timothy Buchholz, associate professor of music, “Stories from the Trail: An Inside Look at Adventure Racing”

After the live event, HANK Talks will be archived on the UW-Stevens Point at Wausau Lecture and Arts website. Talks will also air on the public access cable television channel.

Another series of HANK Talks is planned for the spring.
