Trudy Beth Peters, 57

Trudy Beth Peters, of Stevens Point, passed away unexpectedly in her home in the early hours of March 16, 2023. Trudy was 57 years old.

Trudy was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on February 7, 1966, to Richard and Orinne (née Olson) Kerske. After moving to Stevens Point, she attended SPASH and graduated in the class of 1984. Following high school, she worked several jobs, most notably for Portage County, where she was instrumental in the installation of Enhanced 911; a service that greatly improves responses for emergency services.

She also continued her education as she earned an associate degree from Mid-State Technical College in addition to her EMT certification in 1994. Trudy was a founding member of the Stockton Emergency Medical Service (EMS) where she proudly served for over 25 years. In addition to her EMS service, she served as a Member Service Representative at CoVantage Credit Union.

If you asked Trudy, her most important job was always being a wife and mother. She met the love of her life, Jeff Peters, and they were married at St. Joseph’s Church on September 15, 1990. They settled down in their Stockton home and had four beautiful children; Beth (Mike) Bond, Kyler Peters, Sam (Allison) Peters, and Quinton (Anna) Peters. She was also blessed with three grandchildren; Katelyn, Joseph, and Madelyn, whom she adored. In her free time, she loved to connect with friends and family, always sharing a hardy laugh. Trudy had a passion for genealogy and through her research she connected much of her family etiology, even tracing back to birthplaces in Europe.

Trudy is survived by her husband Jeff, her children, her grandchildren, her siblings; Tim (Penny) Kerske, Terri (Jerry) Pfeffer, Thomas (Carol) Kerske, Tina (Glenn) Kerske, Ted (Dawn) Kerske, and Trevor (Jill) Kerske. She is further survived by her step-mother, Sue Kerske, and step-siblings; Bob (Shawana) Glennon and Barb (Bill) Altschwager; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Trudy Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Orinne Kerske, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Victor and Viola (Thompson) Peters.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests a donation be made to establish a memorial scholarship in Trudy’s name.
