Team Schierl Companies kicked off some serious fundraising for the 2019 Guns N’ Hoses Softball game.

The donation, a check for $2,200, comes from TSC Charitable Giving Fund, which is administered by the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin.

Brothers and business partners Tim Schierl, Fritz Schierl, and Bill Schierl presented the check to members of the Guns N’ Hoses committee on Aug. 19. Traci Tauferner, Stevens Point Assistant Fire Chief JB Moody, Plover Police Sgt. Brent Thauer, and Kevin Ruder, the retired police chief from Stevens Point, were all present to represent the committee.

The fifth annual Guns N’ Hoses event will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Bukolt Park, featuring a cops-versus-firefighters softball game, kids games, food from Polito’s, and a special “Dunk the Chief” challenge.

Gates at Cub Mancheski Field open at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Guns N’ Hoses has raised $69,500 for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, the Portage Co. Veterans Emergency Services Fund, and other local veteran causes in the past five years.
