Stevens Point man located safe

By Brandi Makuskio

Stevens Point police say a local man missing since Tuesday has been found safe.

Sylvan Dyken, 22, left his home on Feb. 11 of his own volition. The high-functioning autistic man’s family say they were concerned for his well-being, according to Assistant Police Chief Mike Rottier, and reported him missing yesterday.

Dyken reportedly got a ride to the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee on Tuesday, and his cell phone has been located as being active in the Pittsburgh area, Rottier said.

Rottier said Dyken may have left the area to meet someone he met through online gaming.

Dyken was reported safe Wednesday night, according to police.

No further details are being released.
