Stevens Point Featured in Municipal Mag

Stevens Point is being featured in a national trade magazine for its arts and culture.
The Municipal featured the city in its online version Jan. 12 in a piece titled, “A small college town, Stevens Point, Wis., has a lot to offer.”
The publication, billed as “The premier magazine for America’s municipalities,” targets municipal governments throughout the state, offering fleet and public works products, and news regarding state and federal safety codes. The magazine also publicizes trade shows and showcases local communities.
The story points largely to cultural features in the city, including the annual trivia contest, local music scene and a famous snow sculptor on Clark Street. Artist Jef Schobert, known locally for his Snow Art Zone, was even interviewed for the piece.
Also noted in the story were UW-Stevens Point, Mid-State, the city’s expansive parks system, and “progressive and environmentally-focused events to keep the city moving forward.”
