By Craig Marx

Stevens Point Area Senior High boys basketball was looking for a big-time win in only its second home game of the year, and Tuesday’s 66-55 win secured the Panthers their first victory of the season behind Nate Streveler’s 25-point night over Chippewa Falls.

Streveler sunk three three-pointers while shooting over 52 percent from inside, in addition to coming down with seven rebounds. Not be outdone, SPASH’s James Jacobs scored 16 points and assisted on another six while landing four boards, all defensive, in the win over the Cardinal.

Parker VanderLoop added 10 points for the Panthers with an impressive five rebounds to boot, while Damian Cejka was 100 percent from beyond the arc to deliver two three-pointers and another two points from the inside for eight on the evening.

The SPASH boys are now 1-3 on the season, but behind this impressive win look to travel to Wisconsin Rapids on Friday night to take on Rapids-Lincoln with tip-off beginning at 8:15 p.m.
