SPASH baseball splits with Warriors

The SPASH baseball team split a doubleheader with Wausau West Monday afternoon at Plover Memorial Park.

The Panthers dropped the first game 5-3, bounce back to take game two 6-6 in 10 innings.

The Panthers sit at 5-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, 9-2 overall.

SPASH jumped out to a 3-0 lead in game one after four innings of play. The Warriors took advantage of a dropped fly ball to center field to load the bases. Grant Hill stepped to the plate and cleared the bags with a grand slam to right center for the 4-3 lead. West put one more run on the board in the inning for the final margin.

West found itself up 5-2 in game two following the fifth inning before the Panther bats came alive. Holding West scoreless over the final two innings SPASH went on to score two in the sixth and one in the seventh before Mason King hit a one out single to score Isaac Perner for the extra inning win.
