SPASH baseball downs LaCrosse in twin bill

The SPASH baseball team improved its record to 8-0 with a doubleheader sweep of LaCrosse Central Friday afternoon.

SPASH took game one 12-8. The Panthers sit atop the Wisconsin Valley Conference at 4-0.

The Panthers put five runs on the board, all with two out singles from Isaac Perner, Tristan Aldrich, Brett Ehr, and Justin Morton.

“It’s nice to see us hit the ball well,” said Coach Kraig Terpstra. “We had 12 different players get hits.”
The Panthers went on to score five more runs in the third inning and two in the fourth and finished with 16 hits.

SPASH topped off the afternoon winning the nightcap 4-2. Cole Wright had the big game including a double, home-run, and four runs batted in. Wright started off with a RBI double to score Brady Franz from first base in inning one.

He stepped to the plate in the fifth inning with two outs and blasted a three run homer to put the game away.

“Cole continues to come up with big hits for us. He is playing extremely good baseball right now,” said Terpstra. “We beat a pretty good pitcher which is nice to see because we will be facing good pitching in upcoming conference games.”
