Police & Sheriff calls, Feb. 8-10

Editor’s Note: Multiple slide-in crashes have been reported since Friday. For the sake of time and space, we have not listed them all here.

Feb. 8

Take a Hint: A 36-year-old woman called police at 9:05 a.m. to report a man, 37, under a no-contact order had been leaving her letters at her home.

No License: Police cited a 31-year-old man at 4:06 p.m. for driving without a valid license, second offense, near North Point Dr. and West St. North.

Third OWI: A 48-year-old man was arrested at 8:27 p.m. on charges of OWI, third offense, and failure to yield near Isadore and Franklin streets.

Mailbox Fatality: A 24-year-old woman was cited after hitting a mailbox with her vehicle near County Trunk HH and Hoover Rd. 9:50 a.m.

Sockpuppet: A 34-year-old woman called deputies at 8:36 p.m. to report she believed another woman, 25, was creating a fake Facebook profile.

Feb. 9

Meth’d Out: Deputies responded to the 2300 block of Post Rd. at 12:23 p.m. after a caller reported two men in the residence who used meth the day before and were still “delusional”. One of the meth users would call deputies about two hours later to report hallucinations.

Three Lil Pigs: A 75-year-old man called deputies to complain his neighbor’s pigs were loose in his yard on the 7100 block of 6th Ave. in Stevens Point at 1:30 p.m. The pigs were returned to their pen.

OWI: Police arrested a 32-year-old man for operating under the influence and unsafe lane deviation near Jefferson St. and Miller Ct. and 2:34 a.m.

Bond Violation: Police arrested a 30-year-old man for violating conditions of his bond near Division St. and Sixth Ave. at 11:46 a.m. The man had his driving privileges revoked as a condition of his bond and was pulled over for a traffic violation.

Slasher: A 22-year-old woman called police at 11:08 a.m. to report an unknown person slashed the tire on her vehicle on the 2700 block of Fourth Ave.

Snowy Vehicle: A 42-year-old man was cited near Hwy. 54 and Johnson Ave. for failing to remove snow from his vehicle prior to driving.

Feb. 10

OWI: A 26-year-old man was arrested for operating under the influence after failing to stop for a red light near Second and Franklin streets at 12:40 a.m.

Kind of Loco: A 55-year-old man was cited for retail theft after stealing for cans of Loko malt beverage from a gas station on the 1600 block of Maria Dr. at 8:50 p.m.

Cujo: Deputies assisted on a medical call on the 10000 block of County Trunk B at 12:10 a.m. after a woman was bitten by her dog. According to deputies, the woman startled her dog from a deep sleep, resulting in three “deep lacerations” to the woman’s thumb.

Meth: A 37-year-old man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop near Hwy. 10 and Brilowski Rd. at 11:23 a.m.

Assault: Deputies took a report of an assault on East Maria Dr. at 4:52 p.m.

Can It: Deputies conducted a welfare check on the 200 block of Sherman Ave. after a caller reported a 24-year-old woman there had “made a weapon from a soda can”.
