April 16

Speeder: Police issued a speed warning to a 62-year-old man at West River Dr. and West McDonald Dr. at 8:05 a.m.

Speeder: A 78-year-old woman was cited for speeding at West River Dr. and West Quarry St. at 9:16 a.m.

Well, yeah: Police were called to Kwik Trip, 3533 Stanley St., at 10:27 a.m. when a 63-year-old man reported that a 68-year-old man spat into his mouth during a verbal argument during which the victim called the spitter an “ass.”

Homeless camp: Police were called to Koziczkowski Park, 3433 Minnesota Ave., at 11:39 a.m. when a caller reported finding a homeless encampment in the park. No further details were included in the blotter.

Downed lines: Police and fire crews were dispatched to downed power lines on the 2700 block of Henrietta St. at 2:45 p.m., and at Prentice and Briggs streets at 3:08 p.m.

Dressed down: A 45-year-old known woman called police to Ross Dress for Less, 5601 Hwy. 10 East, at 3:46 p.m. to report she’d been assaulted by an unknown woman in a black vehicle, and at an unknown location. No further details were included in the blotter.

Wannabes: A 21-year-old woman called police to the 1400 block of Sixth Ave. at 3:56 p.m. to report that a group of neighborhood kids shot a pellet gun at her window, breaking it.

Gone to pot: Police were called to university apartments on the 200 block of Reserve St. at 6:28 p.m. when a student complained that a neighbor was smoking pot. Officers were unable to find anything suspicious.

Problems: Police responded to the 3300 block of Echo Dells Dr. at 8:53 p.m. when a caller reported a disturbance in the home during which a teenage girl destroyed property in the home, and then ran away. No further details were included in the blotter.

Tinder flipper: A 36-year-old woman called police to the 3100 block of Bush St. at 10:31 p.m. to report that a man whom she met on Tinder, whose name she did not know but who claims to “flip” cars for a living, had stolen the key to her car and drove away in a Toyota SUV.

Welfare check: Police stopped at the Portage Co. Library, 1001 Main St., at 1:50 a.m., to check the welfare of a known 30-year-old man outside the building. No further details were included in the blotter.

Trespasser: Officers were called to Econo Lodge, 5110 Main St., at 6:36 a.m., when a caller reported that a known 34-year-old woman was trespassing in the lobby.

Crash: Police responded to Prentice St. and Fourth Ave. at 7:33 a.m. for a two-vehicle collision. No injuries were reported.

Not an animal lover: Police were called to a home on the 2200 block of Stanley St. at 2:52 p.m. when a caller reported that a man there was threatening animals. No further details were included in the blotter.

Shoplifter: An employee at Metro Market, 1500 Pinecrest Ave., called police at 5:12 p.m. to report an unknown person had stolen about $23 of merchandise from the store. No further details were included in the blotter.

Warning: Police issued a warning for operating while suspended to a 29-year-old man near Kohl’s, 150 Crossroads Dr., at 7:27 p.m.

The owner said the tenant was being evicted and had until the following day to vacate, but he’d noticed a substantial increase in coming and going traffic and suspected drug deals were happening in the home.
