Park Ridge Fire to host annual ‘Tame the Flame’ 5K

Park Ridge firefighters have scheduled their annual Tame the Flame event for Oct. 6.

The third annual family fun day, which will be held 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., includes a 5K walk/run, and kids fitness challenge, with games, a smokehouse, and other fire safety activities.

Special guests include Smokey the Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog. T-shirts will be sold at the event.

Registration is $20 for the 5K through Oct. 5, and $25 the day of the event.
