Pacelli defeats Tomahawk in regional play

It was a battle of a game that Pacelli baseball won by taking the lead in the sixth inning to best Tomahawk 6-5 in a regional quarterfinal matchup at Bukolt Park on Thursday.

Tomahawk had the lead by scoring the game’s first two runs in the second inning but the Cardinals answered with four runs in the fourth inning with a single by Drew Kedrowicz driving in two RBIs to tie the game. Two additional runs were scored off an error and passed ball by Tomahawk.

Tomahawk ended up scoring in the fourth and sixth innings to tie the game, but Pacelli came back in the bottom of the sixth to score two on a triple hit by Bryce Cashin. The Hatchets attempted to pull ahead in the seventh, but Pacelli was able to hold them to one run to win the game.

Cashin lead in hits going 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBIs. Kedrowicz also had two RBIs.

Nate Helms was the winning pitcher going six innings with four runs on six hits and seven strikeouts. Kayden Mayek closed the game pitching one inning with one hit, one run, and one strikeout.
