Ortho Molecular Products wins ‘Wisconsin Forward’ award

A Stevens Point-based company has been honored for excellent management performance.

Ortho Molecular Products, Inc. is a privately held company that makes dietary supplements for licensed healthcare practitioners. The company recently earned the Forward Award of Excellence from the Wisconsin Forward Award, the state’s premier organization for recognition of high-performance management practices. Wisconsin Forward Award is administered by the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence.

It’s the highest award possible under Wisconsin Forward Award. Recipients demonstrate “refined approaches, good-to-excellent results, and are considered industry leaders and role models for others,” a news release from the company said.

The award is based on the National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award criteria. The application alone is 60+ pages and includes interviews by independent examiners with employees and company leadership.

Following a tour of the manufacturing facility and corporate offices, the judging panel noted the company’s “strong leadership system, customer-centric culture, strategic planning process, and strong financial track record” as significant strengths.

“Several years ago, we established the goal to become the best in the world at manufacturing and distributing evidence-based nutraceuticals,” said CEO Gary Powers. “We selected the National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award as our benchmark. Our teams have learned so much throughout the examination process, and our organization has benefited tremendously from the Baldrige and Wisconsin Forward Award methodology.”

President Aaron Bartz said with feedback from the judges, the company will “continue to sharpen our systems and processes.”
