Model railroad show sees big uptick in attendance

The 25th annual Arctic Run Model Railroad Show was a big success, organizers say.

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Wisconsin Model Railroaders brought the show back to the Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Stevens Point.

The event attracted several model railroad clubs from across Wisconsin, and dozens of vendors for the two-day event.

Co-organizer Jim Miller said less than halfway through the first day’s activities, the CWMR had already checked in over 800 people at the door.

“That’s way up from last time,” Miller said. “We’ve got a lot of people here and it’s great.”

CWMR was founded as a non-profit educational organization in 1987 when individuals interested in model railroading came together to share the hobby with the community. After expenses, proceeds from the show go to support local non-profit organizations.

Anyone interested in model railroading, or in joining the CWMR should contact Miller at 715-340-0265 or [email protected], or Don Anderson at 715-340-8105 or [email protected].
