Mary Ellen was born in Chicago to Emmanuel and Marian Frangella. Mary Ellen attended Perry grade school and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady High School in 1962. She went on to pursue a career with the railroad, working for companies such as Milwaukee Road, Burlington, Soo Line, and C.P Rail. She lived the majority of her life in the Chicago area, moving to Stevens Point in 2014.

Mary Ellen was married to her loving husband of 50 years, William Terrill. She was a devoted mother to Annette (Robert) Nitz of Poulsbo, Wash., Cynthia Terrill of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Lynne Verseman of Stevens Point.

She was also a very proud grandma and nana to Ryan Aversano, Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., and Dylan Verseman of Stevens Point. Mary Ellen was a second mom to many, especially Russell Baltis, Jenni (Bilenko) Salamh, Ingrid Olson and Heidi (Olson) Cooper, and a friend to all.

Mary Ellen was a devout Catholic and a very active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake, Ill. She taught Catechism, participated in bible studies and met many cherished friends along the way.

After moving to Stevens Point, she became a member of Saint Peter Catholic Church, which she loved very much for its history and architecture.

In Mary Ellen’s spare time, she loved to cook. For anyone who knew her, she cooked for an army. Being raised Italian taught her the only way to cook was so no one walked away hungry. In addition to cooking, Mary Ellen cross stitched, sewed and crocheted. She has given many gifts that were made with nothing but love. Above all else, Mary Ellen enjoyed the company of her family and friends.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, William Terrill, her parents, Emmanuel and Marian Frangella, her brother Frank Frangella, and son-in-law Luke Verseman.
