Marjorie “Marge” A. Brown, 82

Marjorie “Marge” A. Brown, of Stevens Point, passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 82.

Marge was born December 27, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; daughter of the late Felix and Julia (née Klesmith) Guzman. She grew up in the area and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1959.

After high school, Marge joined the workforce where she worked as a line worker for a painting company. After meeting Virgil Brown, she knew she found the love of her life. The two were married and worked hard to build a life for themselves and their children. Marge took great pride in keeping a beautiful home for her family and enjoyed decorating the house for every season and holiday.

Marge will be remembered as a loving, caring, and thoughtful person. She was known to be a creature of habit. She looked forward to the annual shopping trip with her daughters, whether they headed to Appleton or another location the girls chose, and spent every Saturday with curlers in her hair, a task that could not be skipped, even if people came for a visit.

While she cherished every moment she spent with her family, especially time spent at “the pond,” she also enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Nascar races, and the birds in her yard — especially cardinals. She also enjoyed attending parties with family and friends, spending precious time and making joyful memories with those she loved.

Marge is survived by her husband, Virgil; her children, Charlene (Fred) Hopfensperger, Sharon (Marvin) Flick, Melanie (Mark Pliska) Hoffman, Lynn (Roger) Pascavis, and Christopher (Tracy Johnson) Brown; her grandchildren, Eric (Katie) Hopfensperger, Kyle (Megan) Hopfensperger, Jessica (Christopher) Bargender, Joshua (Kati Mason) Pascavis, Wendy (Nathan) Budsberg, Joseph (Hope) Pascavis, Hailey Pascavis, Megan Flick and Dylan Flick; and her great-grandchildren, who called her Gigi, Kason, Kelsey, Karter, Koleson, Sawyer, Jackson, Barrett, Castin, and Gracelyn. She is further survived by her sister, Pat Wanta; and her sisters-in-law, Donna (John Chapman) Kuzynski, Betty (Donald) Kawleski, and Nancy Brown.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Julia; her son, Kenneth Brown; her parents-in-law, George and Hazel Brown; and many other loved ones.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially nurses Kimberly and Jenny, for all the excellent care Marge received during the last few months.

A funeral service will be held in Marge’s memory at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Shuda Funeral Home, 3200 Stanley St., Stevens Point. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
