Marion Alice Greco, 88

Marion Alice Greco, formerly of Polonia, passed away at her daughter’s house early Friday morning surrounded by her loving family and peacefully holding her granddaughters hand.

Age 88, Marion was born May 19, 1929 in Milwaukee. She was the daughter of the late Clara and Arthur (Tetting) Jordan. She met the love of her life when she skipped school and shared a Coca-Cola with Salvatore “Sam” Greco.

Together they married July 8, 1948 in Menominee, Mich. After their marriage the beautiful couple settled in Milwaukee, moving to Polonia area in 1969. She eventually resided in Stevens Point. They were married for 60 years, and in those 60 years they had five wonderful children.

Marion worked for Nun Bush while attending a girl’s technical college. From there, in 1953, she joined the United Steel Workers of America at the Continental Can Company. She was a proud union member to the very end. She retired from there in 1973.

Together, Sam and Marion, owned and operated three Greco Pizzerias in the Milwaukee area starting in the ’60s. When they moved to the area in 1969, they purchased and created Greco’s Club 66. They continued the pizza tradition together. Marion helped with Greco’s Prepared Foods and their famous Greco frozen pizzas.

Her true passion was her love for her children and grandchildren. She had a pure and patient heart of gold and a sense of humor that would leave you in tears laughing.

Marion developed COPD when she was 55 years old. She never let it take away from her unique personality. Her grandkids will forever remember “pacha-on-the-poh-poh” and all of her little quirks.

Survivors are her children: Dennis (Donna) Greco of Custer, Donna (Terry) Hepting of Plover, Dominic Greco of Stevens Point, Daniel (Teri) Greco of Custer, Stephanie Greco (Florian Jr.) Disher of Almond; 11 grandchildren: Julie Greco, Tina Greco, Pamela Greco (Jacob) Saari, Stephen (Tami) Greco, Tom Hepting From Heaven, Angela Greco, Dillon Greco, Brandon Greco, Sam (Bella) Disher, Jordan (Tod) Disher, Nathaniel (Emma) Disher; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Alvin (Ruth) Jordan of Onalaska and Bob (Darlene) Jordan of Stevens Point.
