Letter: Molepske has the best qualities for next judge

Letter to the Editor-

I worked in the Portage County District Attorney’s Office for approximately four years. While I was employed there, I worked under the supervision of District Attorney Louis Molepske, Jr. and worked alongside phenomenal coworkers and other supervisors who had/have the true meaning of justice as their main priority.

One thing I am going to start off saying; people who do not work in the legal system struggle with understanding the dynamics of running a government agency. It’s a lot more complex than just “playing a role.” It takes years of education, knowledge, and experience. Louis Molepske has all those qualities.

He also has strong family values, he has a beautiful family that he is very involved with, he understands the difficulties of being a working parent, and work/life balance. Despite having the responsibilities of being a husband, father, and son, as a district attorney he remains vigilant in being kind and thoughtful towards co-workers, victims, defendants, and their attorneys and other agencies. Louis has chosen to work for the people. He’s worked for the community as a public servant fighting for Justice and has represented our community most of his adult life.

Isn’t that someone you want as our next judge?

As I stated above, the justice system is hard to understand. It can be confusing, contradicting, and downright mind-boggling, but having a judge who knows that and can make decisions based on facts while having empathy for the parties and making the system less jarring for those involved in the legal system, is important. A judge needs to be able to rule without fear or favor and there must be balance within the court system. Louis Molepske knows all sides of the law and fully understands the due process and constraints of a judge’s perimeter and the authority a judge is legally bound to.

Personally, working alongside Louis, I know for a fact he is the best candidate for Judge. He has the fortitude, extrapolation, and respect for the rule of law. I have worked with both candidates and while they both individually have great successes and characteristics, Louis has the knowledge, background, integrity, experience, and compassion to be the next Portage County Circuit Court Branch II Judge.
Please join me on April 5 in voting for Louis Molepske, Jr.!
