Jo Ann Marie Porter, 69

Jo Ann Marie Porter, 69, of Plover, passed away peacefully at her residence at Maple Ridge Memory Care on November 7, 2022.

Jo Ann was welcomed into life on September 20, 1953, by her parents, Harry and Edna (née Blasel) Porter, in Medford, Wis. As a young girl, she attended area schools and spent time growing and learning alongside her sisters and brothers.

After graduating from Greendale High School in 1973, Jo Ann worked for Goodwill. Her job took her to various cities throughout Wisconsin until she landed in Plover where she remained.

Jo Ann had a big heart and a fun-loving nature. She enjoyed coloring, and watching old TV shows, and had a soft spot for puppies and kittens. She also loved to cheer for her sports teams, especially the Brewers. But nothing topped her daily Coca-Cola at 3 p.m. every day.

Jo Ann is survived by her mother, Edna Porter of Plover; her two sisters, Lori (Marvin) Hopp of Plover and Janet (John) Zausch of Saukville, Wis.; and two brothers, Jon (Linda) Porter of Eagle, Wis.; and Bob (Sue) Porter of Rome, Wis. She is further survived by nieces and nephews; Tara, Katie, Joshua, Jason, Jared, Clinton, Rachel, Scott, and Melanie.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her father, Harry; a sister, Debra; her grandparents, Ed and Leona Blasel, and Harry and Laura Porter; and a niece, Amber (Hopp) Schneider.

The family would like to thank Maple Ridge Memory Care of Plover, Compassus Hospice, and Inclusa for all the compassionate care and assistance received in the care of Jo Ann.

Services for Jo Ann will be held at noon on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2000 Roosevelt Dr., Plover. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
