It’s ba-ack: Taste of Wine & Cheese returns after two-year hiatus

By Brandi Makuski

The popular Taste of Wine & Cheese returns to Portage County for its 18th annual fundraising event in April.

The event, one of the largest fundraisers for the Boys & Girls Club of Portage Co., has been on hold since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It returns to the Noel Group Hanger on Friday, April 22.

Only 200 individual tickets will be available, though additional tickets may become available closer to the event date, depending on the local state of the pandemic.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 1, and can be purchased at www.bgclubpc.org/wine_and_cheese.

The elegant evening will feature a diverse and delicious selection of wines, specialty cheeses provided by Festival Foods, local beers, delicious desserts, and a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Each guest will receive a complimentary wine glass.

The event will include a unique silent auction and a wine raffle.

According to a news release from the Boys & Girls Club, the organization hopes to raise at least $150,000 to help continue its programming for kids at each of its 10 sites.

The event will be held from 7:30-10:00 p.m. on April 22. The Noel Group Hangar is located at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport, 4501 State Hwy. 66.
